While Ranch Water might be your summertime go-to, sometimes it’s nice to mix it up with new recipes, innovative flavor combinations, and different types of 1800® Tequila.
Here are a few of our easy tequila drinks you should try for a summer twist; we encourage you to experiment and make them your own!
SPICY PALOMA
First, let’s spice it up with an elevated riff on the classic Paloma beverage. Our Spicy Paloma takes your favorite grapefruit-forward tequila drink to the next level with 1800® Cucumber & Japaleño, swapping out the salt for a zesty Tajin rim.
For each drink, you’ll need:
- 1.5 oz 1800® Cucumber & Japaleño
- 3 oz grapefruit soda
- 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
- Agave syrup to taste
- A pinch of salt
- Garnish: Tajin rim, grapefruit wheel & jalapeño
Rim a glass with Tajín. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 1800® Cucumber & Jalapeño, lime juice, agave syrup, and a pinch of salt. Shake well, then strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Top with grapefruit soda and garnish with a grapefruit wheel. It’s got just the right amount of spice, perfectly balanced with tart citrus and a hint of sweetness.
Cantarito
For those obsessed with elevated flavor, the Cantarito is a cocktail that delivers. Featuring grasshopper salt, a savory, earthy seasoning with a bright lime-forward edge commonly found in Mexican tienditas, this drink pairs beautifully with the ultra-premium 1800® Cristalino as its base. We love the Cantarito in the summertime for its freshness, blending orange, grapefruit, and lime for a sweet-tart result that’s both vibrant and unexpected.
For each drink, you’ll need:
- 1.5 oz 1800® Cristalino
- 0.5 oz orange juice
- 0.5 oz grapefruit juice
- 0.5 oz lime juice
- 3 oz grapefruit soda
- Garnish with orange slice
Rim a glass with grasshopper salt. Combine all ingredients except grapefruit soda in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until cold and strain over ice into your prepared rimmed glass. Add grapefruit soda, garnish with an orange slice, and more grasshopper salt.
Coconut Margarita
Nothing says summertime like a Coconut Margarita! Its tropical sweetness is just the thing to conjure up those beachy poolside vibes.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1.5 oz 1800® Coconut tequila
- 3 oz cream of coconut
- 1 oz triple sec
- Juice of one lime
- Garnish with a pineapple wedge
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until frothy and strain into your glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice, sit back, and enjoy! This one ranks among the best tequila cocktails for any summer gathering.
1800® Margarita
Summertime just wouldn’t be the same without the timeless enjoyment of an 1800® Margarita. We suggest 1800® Blanco as it’s made with only three ingredients: 100% blue Weber agave, yeast, and water. Its crisp, clean flavors always rise through the sweet/tart citrus, proving why 1800® Blanco is the #1 premium tequila in the U.S.1
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 oz 1800® Blanco (or 1800® Tequila of your choice)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz agave syrup
- 0.5 oz fresh-squeezed orange juice
- Garnish with lime wedge and salt rim
Prepare the glass with a salt rim. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain over ice into the rimmed glass and garnish with a lime wedge.

Watermelon Spritz
Nothing is quite as thirst-quenching as cold watermelon on a hot day. Our Watermelon Spritz is a riff on a classic European favorite, combining an aperitivo (like Aperol or your favorite equivalent), fresh watermelon juice, sparkling wine, and featuring the distinct richness of our 1800® Reposado – a standout in the reposado category and ideal for mixed drinks that highlight bold summer flavors.
We love the Reposado for this recipe because it plays so well with the other ingredients, never overshadowing the cocktail but making an undeniable statement that creates a tequila drink that’s much more than the sum of its parts.
Here is what you’ll need:
- 1.5 oz 1800® Reposado
- 1 oz fresh watermelon juice
- 0.25 oz aperitivo
- 1 oz club soda or mineral water
- 2-3 oz dry sparkling wine
- Garnish with mint bouquet and watermelon slice
Fill a large wine glass with ice and build with all ingredients, topping with sparkling wine last. Garnish with a slice of watermelon and a sprig of fresh mint for a deluxe summer sipper.
