On Thursday June 18, Complex and 1800 Tequila hosted a party to celebrate the release of the latest in the Essential 1800 Artist Series.
This latest edition showcases the work of iconic street artist Keith Haring, whose work is synonymous with NYC in the 80’s, as well as with the most important social issues of the time. This is the seventh edition in the Essential 1800 Artists Series, and is sure to be one of the most popular, as Haring’s bright, colorful, graffiti-meets-comic-strip style is in full effect.
The event took place at Verboten in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Guests at the party enjoyed signature cocktails with names taken from Haring’s world, such as the “Lower East Side” and the “Subway Ride,” all made with 100 percent blue agave 1800 Tequila.
Haring’s work is synonymous with NYC in the 80’s, as well as with the most important social issues of the time.
The top-notch eats included bacon-wrapped short ribs and chicken skewers, and partygoers got down to tunes. 1800 Tequila rolls out a new artist series every year. Past Artist Series bottles have featured Gary Baseman, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and more.
