Hip-Hop Through the Lens of Photography

by the 1800® Team

“Music is consumed through imagery almost as much as it is audio,” says Atlanta-based photographer Cam Kirk. Along with his co-hosts of the bespoke gallery exhibit “In Focus”, Gunner Stahl and Imran Ciesay (Places + Faces), Kirk displayed his most iconic images of the current Hip-Hop scene and culture.

In collaboration with 1800® Tequila and Billboard, these three photographers launched their first ever collaborative exhibit at Miami Art Week 2016, showcasing photos featuring some of Hip-Hop’s most recognizable faces, including Gucci Mane, Future, Chance the Rapper, Migos, Tyga and many more. Their popularity is clear, as they give fans exclusive access to people who define and shape today’s Hip-Hop culture.
Kirk described the exhibit as “a visual and living representation of all the hard work we all put in.” Watch the video above for a full introduction to Cam Kirk, Gunner Stahl and Places + Faces, and for an inside look at the “In Focus” gallery from Billboard and 1800® Tequila.
